Man it's cold !

Yesterday we went to Slimbridge and of course I took a few photographs. I rather like the light on this one, makes it a bit less of "another swans at Slimbridge" image, although I ended up with more than a few of those too.

New year resolution

Yes many resolutions ready for the new year, one is to start blogging regularly and posting frequent (possibly even daily) photographs. Not just to show everyone my work but also as an incentive to make time for taking more pictures for pleasure rather than profit.
On that side of things work has been going really well. I have been really busy and this has shown up some failings in my workflow which I will be addressing in 2010. I'm currently putting together a business plan and deciding on offerings for next year so watch this space for more news soon.

Weekend of wonders

Friday evening I went to London for a friends 40th birthday, it was the first time in 11 years that our posse of 5 were all back together which was great, and somewhat weird all at the same time. It was all so long ago but felt like yesterday. Being a party I didn't get to catch up with them as much as I'd have liked - why do DJs think that the music has to drown out all conversation?

Had to drive back to Stroud early hours of Saturday for family portraits at Little Foxes nursery. Despite feeling rather tired it went well, thank goodness Kazz was able to help out as she made it much easier.

Collected a curry on the way home which we had over at Carol's house, great food, excellent company.

Sunday was more portrait sessions at Little Foxes which again went well. I really enjoy taking the photos and not having to do any selling because people like the images. Not that I'd push them if they didn't like them, one customer was telling me about their bad experience with one of the big chains which reminded me why I work the way I do.

Cracking on with the post production work now to get the orders sent for printing asap.

Instant proof

Well I spent an enjoyable morning doing individual pictures at a local primary school. It went really well and everyone appeared to enjoy themselves. It was the first time I'd tried producing instant sample cards/order forms but as I clicked away Kazz worked hard at the computer and managed to keep up so everyone was able to take them away on the day which I think is great. Really pleased with how it went.

Autumn is definitely here now with the recent sunny weather changing to a mirky grey. The Sweat Peas are fighting to add a final splash of colour in the garden before succumbing to their inevitable demise handing over the batton to the new generation that will rise again in the spring.

Life is getting busy

Well I can't complain I guess the business is really picking up as I have been receiving lots of inquiries and have taken a number of bookings for Family Portrait Days and school photos. It's great to be able to help groups raise funds whilst having fun doing something I love. Hopefully this is just the start and things will snowball as word gets around.

Who know's where the time goes?

Well I've been really busy of late, not all work having done major work on the house has consumed a lot of time too. I also turned 40 recently which apparently took a week what with a festival, party and recovering.

Cracking on now getting ready for the new school year. I already have several bookings and a number of inquiries for this term so all is on track.
